In an ideal civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) system, a vital event goes through ten steps to transform from an event into a vital statistic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registration of a vital event is important for individuals and families, administrative purposes, and for public health purposes. It is critical for governments to establish functional and efficient systems to support the registration of all vital events for all, to leave no one behind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
